Making a small-space cat layout work
A few clear zones can give a cat more choice without taking over a compact room.
Small rooms work best when each cat item earns its place. Rather than scattering toys across every surface, begin with one resting point, one scratch point and one route to a view.
Use the edges of the room. The space beside a window, the end of a sofa or a quiet wall can give your cat a useful destination while keeping the middle of the room open for people.
Leave a little space between the bed, the feeding area and the litter tray. Cats often prefer these routines to feel distinct, even when the home itself is compact.
